HTC Sensation contacts

I got my Sensation back today after 2 and a bit weeks being repaired. Since I've been setting it back up, I noticed that only 50 of my contacts seem to be on the phone. The SIM card is empty. I had over 250 contacts that seem to have disappeared. I've signed back into Gmail and synched a couple of times but still no joy. Any ideas? I must have backed them up, as I have 50 of them, including a mix of contacts from my old phone and the new one. Where could they have gone?

Also, before I gave my phone back to be repaired I moved all my apps to the SD card. I have put the card back in, and it says there are no apps on it. Why is this? They were all free and I can download them again but together with the missing contacts its a real pain.#

    Am I doing something wrong?

Try going to People app then Menu then ensure that Google is checked. This should show all Google contacts after a sync
