    Hi all,

I have owened my macbook since 2007.
Is a 13" macbook with a 2.0ghz dual core proccesor.
    It has 2gb of ram,
    A 120gb HD
    And a fecked battery.

I was planning on getting a battery for it of the apple store soon enough.

I want to have the app store on it and icloud. Linked too.

Ti do this i have to upgrade my OS twice.
I have osx10.5 on my macbook now.

I would have to upgrade to snow leopord 10.6 first.

Then get lion 10.7 at 30e a pop each upgrade.

Including the battery its near 200e

I dont have the money to buy new.

Will my mac run very slow with these upgrades?

Should i just try snow leopord first tk see how it copse?

I have an iphone 4 and ipod touch so it would be nice to have some of the new features working together.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure about Snow Leopard, but for Lion you would need at least 4GB of RAM.

    Hi skapegoat

    i've a mid-2007 13" macbook also.
    it has 2GB of RAM
    2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

i put off installing Lion until it settled down a bit and
finally installed it after the last patch 10.7.2

its running along fine with no decrease in speed or anything.
having said that its not doing anything too taxing.

one thing to be careful of, you say yours has Dual Core.
Lion needs Core 2 Duo at least Lion Specs here
if your macbook it one of these you should be fine

oh, my battery was fecked too a few years back and needed replacing.
but i reckon you'll only ever have to replace it once,
as the price is a shocker, and you wont want to get caught again.
    flippin things.

    Thanks Ed,
That was the kind of info I was looking for.
My macbook has this exact spec so I prssume it was at the start of 2007 model.

    Model Name: MacBook
    Model Identifier: MacBook2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MB21.00A5.B07
    SMC Version (system): 1.13f3

It only has the basic running gear for the Lion OS.
Sorry didnt have exact spec to hand earlier.
I need to clean up a few things before I install Snow Leopord, then If im happy with that I may get Lion.

I got a 40e Spurious Battery from ebay but its not the may west, dont trust it as it was a stop gap.

    Thanks again.
