Was just on the OSI historic maps site, having a look at UCD and found this:

    http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,718667,729809,7,4

There seems to be a building on the green between Engineering and the Restaurant beside Daedalus, it's there in 1995 and 2000 but not 2005. Does anyone know what it is?

I thought it might be the old bar, but the bar is already there.

Good question sir. Holy **** UCD was green. Parking must have been a nightmare, there is probably less then half the spaces at that end of campus then there are today.

Parking probably wasn't as much of an issue back then, before the explosion of people driving when they could easily walk/cycle/take the bus.

Apart from the super huge car-park that has been over the years eaten up by the two student centres and health science :p

It doesn't look like a building to me, it doesn't cast a shadow on any side so it really doesn't seem to have any depth to it (when looking at it from above)

Switch to 1995, you can see the shadow then.

It may be the base / Foundations of the old bar after it was demolished

This seems the most likely. The '95 picture is the old bar, then used as the microcomputer centre pre Deadulus, and the later one is the concrete base of this edifice only.
