Are the static Grey Gatso's still in use ?

i know that some of them have been burnt out or destroyed,(ie http://g.co/maps/ku7ep ) and that even when they were all in use on a fraction of them had an active camera in them.

So anyway, if they are still in use, how many of them are there? I have the co-ordinates for 18 of them.. are there more ??

AFAIK there are only about 12 of them left, with 3 cameras rotating between the 12 boxes. Map here: http://www.irishspeedtraps.com/index.aspx?filter=1

Are they still in use or have they been decommissioned like the garda gatso vans (not to be confused with the ROBOT vans)

They installed one of these at the junction of Nutley Lane and the Stillorgan Road (N11). It was outside the guest house which is diagonally opposite RTE and was pointing at traffic coming from town, was anyone ever caught by this camera?

Reason I ask is because if they ever activated this camera they would have caught several thousand cars a day and probably could have paid off the Anglo debt in a year!

I know the one on the R132 (old N1) just off the Drogheda South M1 turnoff is out of comission, but the M1 southbound at Monesterboice is still active.

Those 2 (and the one posted on Google maps) are the only one's I'd pass frequently enough.

any chance you could tell me which gps coordinate they are, using the above info.

Doubt this one is in use. They resurfaced the road a year or two ago and never put the lines back on the road. AFAIK they are required on the photo to verify the speed.

Marked and unmarked Garda GATSO vans are still in use. Are the ROBOT vans the privately operated vans?

Yes unmarked Garda vans still used:

    ROBOT Multanova C = Garda
    Gatsometer = Garda
    Redflex AGD340 = Gosafe

All the fatal accidents must happen on dual carriageways and motorways in the counties of Dublin and Meath then. Since they put all the fixed speed cameras there.

Don't worry they'll be tolling us off them soon enough so they'll have to move them to the back roads.

I doubt 53.46364, -6.35503, R135, Newtown Commons, Co. Meath works too. Used to go past it all the time. The road was resurfaced there and it took about 5 years for them to paint the lines back on the road.

does anyone know of any tickets issued by the static gatso's ?

i'm begining to think that they have been quietly decommissioned / destroyed

We do stil occasionally get them from the M1 Southbound Camera at Monasterboice (53.810899, -6.399398), but I couldn't say when the last one came in.

They always seem to come in batches, so I'd be surprised if it's a 24/7 - 365 camera.
