My main & dipped headlight failed on passenger side. Had a look & xenon bulb is in bits.

Dealer price €191 + VAT just to buy the bulb.

Original fit philips bulbs on EBAY for €50 and lots of cheaper ones too.

How can they justify charging these kind of prices.

Are they the standard Phillips D1S bulbs? Most VAG cars use these and I have definitely seen them cheaper.

Mine are D3S bulbs. Ive ordered a philips one now which is an exact replacement for £60. It was either that or a get a pair of cheaper ones at about €60.

Quoted €120 recently from Lexus for a D4S - not sure if that includes VAT. Excellent value compared to UK where a Lexus forum poster was charged £160stg + VAT! Just an occasional problem with mine so haven't got one yet. BTW be very wary of 'Phillips' xenon bulbs from eBay - I believe there are a LOT of fakes out there! There was discussion recently on this on another forum and the consensus was that prices under a couple of hundred dollars for a set should set alarm bells ringing. This was for D4S 6000K - no idea of how that relates to the D3S. (actually, would you mind posting or PMing me the link? Might order myself if kosher. Cheers.)
