Have you deleted all the other phones from the carkit?

what car kit are you using or is it an OEm unit, and if so, which car?

    Am using this ..... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Supertooth-Visor-GO-Handsfree-Kit/dp/B002LKC1IQ

It worked great with my 3gs and should support more than one phone.

    But not pairing with 4s....

iPhone 4S has bluetooth 4.0 which is "meant" to be backwards compatible with bluetooth 2.0 Devices like yours.
No idea how you'd go about solving that problem but report it to apple they'll ignore the problem for a few months until enough people start complaining and then they'll do something about it maybe.
Seems to be another case of apple reinventing the wheel that was working fine.

Was going to upgrade but this is a deal breaker if it won't work with my car kit, if anyone has a 4S working with a CK 7W nokia would they post to say it works ok?

    can you reset the kit?
i would remove all the oter devices from the kit and then try re-pair and see how it goes.

I wouldn't even bother, this is an apple problem, they have me drove loopy with the wifi problem on my mbps, there is no problem, If you do a search you'll see a lot of people have op's problem. This is apple messing again.

You could try and re-pair as it can happen some devices might only allow a certain number or connections but i'd bet it's not the problem..

Drunkmonkey, I'd do a bit more research before deciding that it's an "apple problem" I just successfully paired my 4s with a supertooth visor voice, which is the bigger brother of the op's. Both kits are V2.0

The visor go can remember two phones, so as was mentioned id recommend resetting the kit and pairing again, if that doesn't work it may be a phone issue, but it's certainly not the case of all 4s models.... Posts like yours are how unfounded rumours start...

if you have been using a 4 and now on a 4s then you have to delete the last profile from the car. the cars blue tooth will see you phone as "xyz's iphone" and assume that yours is the same.

I had the same issue when I upgraded my 3g to 3gs and again when I upgraded to the 4.

I paired my 4S with my Sony Xplod BT3700U, worked just like the 4 did.

I'm having a very annoying issue whereby I turn on bluetooth, it finds no devices, then when I hit the home key it simply turns itself off. Tried fixing this with a restore on a 4S a few days ago belonging to someone else with no joy - restoring my own (brand new today) one with not a huge amount of hopefulness. My Mam also got a 4S today and has the same issue - are we doing something wrong (I sell the things for a living and no-one in the shop has a clue, btw) Arrgh!

    Edit: Restored, no difference. Help!

I have 2 "my iPhone" connected to my car kit no bother, one is a 3GS and the other is 4s, have no bother with both having same name, I can identify which is which as the 3GS shows meteor and the 4s shows eMobile. I use the Bury 9060 btw.

Off, or just puts it in the background, so to speak? Is the faded bluetooth symbol in the top right corner? If so, thats correct, if there are no BT devices near, its not going to stay on. When you pair it with a device and its in range, it will connect automatically. I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but Apple cripples their implementation of BT so it doesn't connect to a lot of other phones, its mainly for use with headsets, carkits etc.

No, off totally. Compared it to my iPhone 4 sitting beside it.

Handily enough I work for the network I bought them from so the €300 I paid for the two of them is already winging its way back to my account :P

Was away for a few days (mid term break!) so sorry for delay in replying.

Got bluetooth sorted. Switched it off completely, switched iphone onto "search", switched bluetooth back on, and Voila!! All sorted:p

    Thanks for all the help!

I had problems connecting my Iphone 4S to my Nokia Ck-7w car kit but eventually got it to work by resetting it. To reset do not turn on your engine and wait til the light goes out on the nokia button and then press the button for about 20 seconds. After that, turn the ignition and the Iphone will then discover the kit but what I didn't realise for a while what that I had to press where it says "not paired" on the phone and then it searches again it eventually pairs and requests the code which 0000. Hope this is helpful to any Nokia Ck-7w car kit owners and their new phones.

perhaps, but not every headunit manufacturer will be like yours. I use an alpine unit and this has been the case every time I have upgraded, which is 5 times now.
