    Hi,

I recently took a group photo with approx 30 people.

I guess I should have left a wider space at each end, but instead kept the edges tight.

As a result the photo only suits an 8x6 or similar ratio (4x6, 8x12 etc.) Other common standard sizes such as 8x10, 5x7 result in the people on each end being cut out!!

I was wondering do most people usually consider standard print sizes/frames sizes when composing shots or do they just crop to suit the picture and then find the right frame/mount later?

6x8 ratio is a lot different to 4x6. If in doubt, shoot wide and crop to taste.
