    Best of luck to everybody.
I had the dogs out for a final run yesterday and they're lookin good.
Gonna alternate between the springer and setter in different spots.
Just have to clean the gun and have the belt loaded up and ready for the morning.
Ooh me trigger finger is getting itchy just thinking about it.

24 minus 12 equals 12 plenty of hours to shoot. . . :D:D ah let the other lads move the birds around and wise them up for you, you'll get the nicer sproting birds then.

Best of luck to all & be safe.

And the forecast isn’t looking to either :) (but my faith in Met Éireann isn’t at an all time high), don’t mind get wet if I get a bird or two, hate getting soaked and coming home with nothing!

Out for a few hours this morning. Only seen 5 hens. Good seeing the increase in hens but doesn't help my shooting. The first will have to wait till Friday. Fingers crossed for one then:D

Have ye any bag limits lads?
I shot 2 today & left off a few later in the day for the next day.

Each to they're own I say & well done that's good shooting but taking only 2 today makes for better sport tomorrow...

i limit myself to 2, dont see the point in shooting every bird that gets up first day out, like to let a few go, saw 9 cocks today i shot 2 and my neighbour shot 1,met a fella on the way home he could hardly walk he was weighed down with birds shot 12, but each to their own i guess

Same here, usually happy enough to leave it at 2.

Left the house at 10:20 2 in the bag by 11:00, then just ended up giving the dogs a good run for 2 hours.

    Roll on Sunday :)

we dont have any bag limits either
theres a few people in the area that like a phesant so they wont be wasted
keep them sweet there either farmers or the farmers retired parents etc
normally id only shoot one or two as id only get an hour or two to get out the weekend

    ...

Yeah - I only shoot what I will eat over the season or give to parents etc. Usually around half a dozen or so - last year I got 8(mostly younger/smaller birds since I find they taste better;))
