Deferring Third Year.....??

Im just wondering if anyone knows anything about deferring third year of a three year course. I dont even know if this is possible, Ive gone onto the NUIG website but cant find anything out (other than deferring a CAO offer for first year).

Im currently in second year, and want to defer third year if I can. Ideally this would be for two years, but I dont know if even deferring for a year is possible.
Im just wondering if anyone knows anything about this, as Id prefer to have some info before I go and talk to Admissions

I think it's possible. Go see the dean of your faculty.

I deferred my final year earlier this semester.

All you need to do is write a letter to the dean of your faculty requesting a 'leave of absence' for a bereavement, financial reason or on health grounds. It's pretty much automatically accepted for a year anyways.

Not sure what the time frame for doing so was but I did it over a month ago.

Thanks guys, that's good to know. Guess the next step is to go have a chat with the Dean and see whats what Now I just have to get through this year lol
