Airport Express Audio Failure

Hi guys, I just got the other day, a refurb Apple Airport express for the Apple online store. I set it up (which took a while) brought it down to my kitchen, plugged in my stereo, lights came on, flashed, went solid green after a few mins, pressed play on my iTunes on my Mac, it played music for about 8 seconds and then the audio cut out. After that my mac and iPhone can't see the APE. I have tried it a few times and it does it each time after I cut the power and turn back on. Some times it cuts out totally and restarts.

Do I have a faulty unit or could it be a wi fi connection issue...

Any advice would be great, thanks guys.
