I would say that men are more conservative than women.

    What do you think?

Maybe a mod can add a poll?

    Surely its an individual thing

In general, yes. Though conservative women, I find, are a lot worse than conservative men.

I'm asking about the nature of the forest rather than the structure of a tree.

    You get me?

    I don't think so personally.

Although I think people in a position of power/privilege/advantage/influence/etc are more likely to be conservative and more likely to be vocal about the fact that they are conservative, for very obvious reasons, and that more men than women are in a position of power/privilege/advantage/influence/etc, again for very obvious reasons.

So the above may explain why it could appear to some people that men are more conservative.

This is actually a really interesting topic Chuck, and without casting aspersions upon the good denizens of AH, who I love dearly, may have been better started in another forum if serious deliberation is what you seek.

its not that hard to add a poll. Its all there at the bottom of the page, needs planning though, think of the answers first and then add in how many options you want it to have and then fill them in. just dont click the hidden option ;)

Less likely to vote McGuinness so make of that what you will.
Men more stuck in the past?

I think men love conspiracy theories, women love scary stories about white vans, paedatricians, that type of abhorrent behaviour.

    Women like cake more. Fhact.

    Is that a thing K-9?

Is there like polls or something suggesting this?

I would have thunked it was the opposite. (based on anecdotal observations)

Yeah, an RTE RedC poll, had the pdf open. Remind me tomorrow and I'll get the link, can't find it now. Men voted about double for McGuinness.

I'd say it was the killing Garda, Army officers and young children thing.

Lets just put it this way, if men really weren't open to new ideas and ways of doing things we'd be all still sitting in caves and fighting off wolves with the biggest stick that happened to be lying around.

Aye, who is most like likely to murder a kitten?

    A. Gerry Kelly

    B. Gerry Kelly

    C. Associates and Provo fellow travellering supporters of Gerry Kelly.

Because women would never have thought of any better way of doing things is it?

So what youre saying is that all advancement is atributable to men?

    I disagree wholeheartedly.

    No.

Who knows, all we do know is that men have been the driving force for change for as long as we know. Men have a proven track record for dynamism, social change and technological improvement, not saying women wouldn't be the same but to claim that they would be more dynamic than men would take some proving!

I'm not saying that, just the majority of it. Do you disagree and think the majority of advancement is attributable to women???

I'd say it was the killing Garda, Army officers and young children thing.

Because killing special costume wearers and children is an exclusively IRA thing.

    No.

    No.

The quotes didn't come out right.

Greysteel, a sad, sad, day. I've joked up to now but considering the day that is in it, let them RIP.
