I don't get the whole "oh those tats/piercings are for girls/guys only" (well except for genital piercings :P) if you want something just get it done! It's your body and your choice so go for whatever makes you happy

Some phoenix designs are very feminine, some are very masculine, it's up to the design you get done. I've a phoenix tattoo myself, and it's quite an aggressive looking one, as opposed to the very flowing, feathery, peaceful ones you often see.
