Never thought I would have to start a thread about the intricacies of Estonian football but I know little to nothing about them. I did hear none of their players actually play top flight football in Europe or elsewhere. Is the full team even fully professional?

So I am just wondering who knows what about the Estonian team? Their dangerous players, their weaknesses, injury news etc.

I do know they essentially qualified for the playoffs by beating the North home and away. I don't think that tells us much though as NI are pretty brutal. So it's hard to tell how good they are.

    Ta!

Tarmo Kink is a forward who plays for Middlesbrough, and Sander Puri a winger is probably their other dangerous player.

But players do play top flight football in Europe. in fact, almost all of their most recent squad do.

From what I've seen they're big fans of long range shooting and old style punting of the ball into the box. Very direct stuff. They should certainly test our defense next month.

They have no players in any of the "major" leagues and their top scorer in qualifying was Konstantin Vassiljev , so I guess we should keep an eye on him.

Heres the Wiki for them some impressive results in there but some shockers too, and they did stuff the north twice, A good result in march though beating Uruguay 2-0 but then 3-0 over in Uruguay another shocker that stands out for me is losing 2-1 to the Basque country ? is this the crowd that the Barca players play for or am i mistaken ?

I think on paper we should comfortably beat them but as they say its played on grass

I'd say the Basque country would actually be quite a handy outfit, and would be ranked ahead of us. They're basically Athletic Bilbao plus Xabi Alonso and a couple of Sociedad players. If they played competitive international football, I'd say they'd have qualified for a number of tournaments.

Basque XI 4:1 League of Ireland ‘B’
Bilbao Tournament, San Mamés Stadium, Bilbao
Scorers (Basque XI): Dani (2), Zamora, Satrustegui
    Scorer (LOI ‘B’): Whelan 42

Team: Alan Patterson (Sligo Rovers), Pat Nolan (Limerick), XXXX Brady, Tommy McConville (Dundalk), Joe Burke (Bohemians), Johnny Fullam (Athlone Town), Ronnie Whelan (Home Farm), XXXX Byrne (Shamrock Rovers), Paddy Joyce (Bohemians), John Delamere (Shelbourne) and Terry Eviston (Bohemians)

Basque count it as a win against "Ireland". No record in Ireland match history so clearly we didn't count it as a full international.

Terry Eviston was my 5th and 6th Class teacher.
