Lets hope it stays that way with an eventual Fianna fail free Ireland ;)

I look forward to the day i see a sign like that in the arrival hall of Dublin Airport telling people that they're entering a FF free Ireland.
And hopefully remind everyone that these scum and their developer scum and the PD and Green Party scum brought this country to its knees.

No mention of the "scum" that voted them in, I notice...

Is that an actual sign or a doctored photo, Like what was there before they put the Anti ff writings,Seems like a lot of spare green space to have.

    Hi,

I can understand why people hate the Greens for allowing the IMF in, being naive and allowing FF to piss all over them. Are there any other reasons?

Not quite "Mary Davis poster" standard, but then that was Photoshopping above & beyond any known limits.

Just a photoshop, you can see the off-green box.

The Labour Party has the same amount of TD's as Fianna Fail in one county. Labour have 19 in Dublin, FF have 19 all over the country.

But they have not gone away you know. Hopefully the people will not be deceived by them ever again and vote for parties of principle and ideology, regardless of what that is.

Yes, you're working away for the "party". But why?! What on earth do you stand for? Why aren't you completely embarassed and ashamed of this "party" with its lack of principles and any moral grounding. Supporting self serving shisters like Ahern and Haughey?
FF said it all during the Gallagher debacle, when, knowing the truth about Mr G's involvement in FF, never stood up and said "Well, Actually..." Not one of all of the FF people who know he was lying stood up. The "Party" before the People - that's the Republican't Party for you all over...

So long as there are individuals willing to serve their community, there will be a Fianna Fáil.

Oh I don't know, been knocking on doors across Dublin since GE11' and already I have noticed a thawing of attitudes towards FF.

During the GE very few were willing to hear FF canvassers out - now people are actually starting to listen to us. Lots of work to be done, but a positive sign nonetheless.

Oh no doubt, a huge amount of work has to be done by the party in order to restore credibility. Devastating mistakes were made over the last number of years and there is little point trying to justify some of them, but nonetheless we must continue to pick ourselves up and get on with the task at hand.

I didn't think FF deserved to win a by election in Dublin less than 1 year after the IMF was brought in to sort the sordid mess that FF created, myself.

Not even after FG foisted that loathsome and sociopathic mitchell on the populance.

    No. Are senators really 'elected'?

Not really no, although we still have directly elected Fianna Fáil Councillors in Dublin which does taint our FF free status somewhat. Still, I am proud that there are no FF TD's in the capital. Senators are appointed or elected by select clubs and can't be attributed to the general Dublin population.

What's the point of trying to "rebuild"?

The party name is synonymous with incompetence, corruption and cronyism. While I can understand and respect the desire to be involved with the governance of the country surely it's time to relegate the Fianna Fail party to history and allow the honest, hard-working members of the local cumans to join other parties (FG would seem the closest idealogical home) or even form a new party free of the tarnish of the name and lack of ethics of the party which has consistently proven themselves to be the untrustworthy child of Irish politics that make a mess of things before we have to call in Mammy and Daddy (FG) to fix things.

Apologies to mod for using inappropriate terms, now replaced by terms in brackets. Was just expressing the views of the vast majority of Irish people. Didnt realise these terms were not allowed on politics forum.

    DONT BOTHER, NOT WELCOME.
At election time you will see a poster outside which reads "strictly no FF or GP canvassers welcome"
Those who ignore this warning will do so at their peril.

I wouldn't even bother. Anyone canvassing for FF at this stage is a lost cause and won't listen to reason, or acknowledge reality. Its like listening to a domestic abuse victim saying "but... I know he really loves me deep down". Stockholm syndrome, or something like that.

That and a belief that Ireland is theirs and any other party is a temporary usurper bordering on pathological arrogance.

Yep . . . and when all this unpleasantness dies down they'll be back to their core 40% vote ;).
Can they not see even after last week, you're less toxic being a member of the IRA than being a member of FF.

Are you referring to Gallagher and McGuinness? Last I checked Gallagher polled on 28.5% with McGuinness polling on 13%.

The FF mud which stuck cost Gallagher 12%.
McGuinness' didn't suffer any release of skeletons.

FF suffered from bad leadership over the years and its ironic the op lamenting a FF free Dublin considering the biggest rat to ever lead the party was a Dub. Dont right off FF just yet, its a long way yet until the next election.

Who's lamenting a FF free Dublin? Not me - I think its absolutely FANTASTIC. But this sort of parochial daftness - that you should show allegiance to someone just because he's from the same county - is the sort of illogical hooey that we need to eradicate if we're ever going to grow up as a nation.

I mean, how the hell did Gallagher do so well in the election - he was on the National Executive of Fianna Fail up until 2009 - for God's sake, have we no memory at all. But so many gave him their number one - and he excelled in his own and neighbouring counties.

What sort of a cretin says "I'm voting for yer man, cos he lives near me".?

    Fock it, I'm emigrating...

And another thing - the jubilation among the public after Cowan got a roasting on TV last week - but who put him into office? The Brits?

Here here - have you ever heard of Gandhi's Seven Social Sins:

    Politics without principles,
    wealth without work,
    pleasure without conscience,
    knowledge without character,
    commerce without morality,
    science without humanity, and
    worship without sacrifice.

    Remind you of anyone?

Apparently he is still very popular in Offaly. The mind boggles. There must be no unemployment, emigration, debts, the lot down there, or else they are completely mad. Ah shure he ruined us all but he is a great fella all the same,...... enjoying his lump sums and big pensions.

So long as there are individuals willing to serve their community, there will be a Fianna Fáil.

Let me re-phrase that for you, Sierra: So long as there are (self serving) individuals willing to (make it look like they are) willing to serve their community, there will be a Fianna Fáil.

Mr Oscar, you are not as special as you think. People from other political parties, people who work for charities, social groups, sports clubs, even good neighbours, serve their communities.

People in Fianna Fail EMPOWER leeches like P Flynn, Ray Burke, B Ahern, C Haughey, to rip the rest of us off.

    WHY DON'T YOU WAKE UP!

Serve the community and your country by leaving Fianna Fail, and showing all politicians that if you bankrupt the country, your party will die, and your reputation will be ruined for all of history.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭eire4

Funny photo. Lets hope Dublin and large parts of the country stay that way. Fianna Fail's courruption and incompetence played a massive role in bringing the country to the sad state we are currently in. There is no chance they will ever get my vote.
