    Hi Folks,

I thought i would ask this in after hours because on the sunday of a long weekend there is no hope of finding anyone anywhere else.

I went out yesterday for my dinner(lucky me) I got carrots, parsnips and green beans as the veg. However they tasted hard and raw. Now i know this is spouted as being the fashion etc but I wondered was it really. So i thought i would ask a simple question.

How do you like your Veg. Vaginas will not be included in this pole. Sorry peeps.

So how do you like your veg! 75 votes

Well cooked. Soft on the false teeth!

Well I don't know about style but I'm always eating raw veg so to have a plate of veg served up like you got is fine by me.

I love raw carrots, would just chomp on them as a snack. Everything else I prefer to be cooked though

I always thought vegetables were meant to be cooked al dente? I like mine nice and crunchy anyway.

That's associated with eggs in the morning (not veg)

The best way to have your eggs in the morning is unfertilized

    Just this side of raw.

Upon hearing of my preference for crunchy veg an old boyfriend's mother served me raw carrots, not even sliced into bite-sized pieces, just peeled and cut in half...

Well the results do surprise me. Perhaps a restaurant will be asking in the future....

How do you like your veg....

I don't like mine overcooked to a mush, but then again I don't really go a bundle on the current 'al dente' mode either. Probably somewhere in between, so that they've just lost their initial crunch, but still have most oftheir flavour.

When eating out in Ireland, I'd like mine with some imagination. Do Irish eateries know they don't have to put carrots in every feckin' meal?

    ...wrapped in bacon.

Lightly steamed. When you boil veg you take out all the nutrients.

If you don't count potatoes (which are tubers afaik and not vegetables) I don't eat any vegetables. Can't stand the taste of them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,349 ✭✭✭✭starlit

I like them in between, with a bite but soft but not too slushy! Use to love veg but not as much now as it was shoved down my throat for years so had no other alternative. Got sick of veg and only eat certain varieties of veg now. Can't stand mushy peas or Brussels sprouts and got sick of potatoes. Any other veg is grand.

I like them well done, but find the wheelchair hard to swallow.

Vegtables are evil and should be banned......
