Learning Unix shell scripting

Hi, I'm looking to learn unix shell scripting and I was just wondering if anyone would have any good tutorials. I've installed cygwin and I've been following a linux tutorial but some of the syntax used in the tutorial is not accepted by cygwin.
I've programmed before in C, so I would understand common programming concepts but I've only been using unix for the past month and I'm very basic at it.
    Thanks in advance
