Now that Presidential election is over, can I take down a campaign poster?

There's a campaign poster on my corner, two of them, by the same candidate, but one is a bit low and it's bugging me.

Can I just take it down and properly dispose of it (or keep it as a souvenir), or will I get in trouble?

I know I could report it, but it be just handier anyway. When are they suppose to be down?

They have to officially be taken down within a week of the poll, but that's never stopped friends of mine "assisting" in speeding up the process. I consider it removing litter from the streets.

It's the property of the party / election candidate.

OP, my brother came in from a party last weekend with 4 election posters. If you cut one down, I really doubt anyone will bat an eyelid.
