Broken clutch return spring

    Hi all,

Had this in the DIY section but wasn't getting any response.

I've got an 06 Focus, today when I pressed the clutch there was a popping noise. The clutch got softer but the car still drives fine.
I found a spring on the floor with one of the hooks snapped off.

If I get a replacemnt spring can I fit it myself? Is it difficult to do?
Had a look and it looks fairly tricky, couldn't even find where the spring goes.

Is it ok to drive the car without the spring in place?
I have a 2 hour motorway drive tomorrow, and a 2 hour drive back on Friday before I'll be able to get it fixed.
Is all the pressure of the clutch being put on the clutch hydraulics?

    Thanks!!

Yeah its ok to drive it just means your pedal sits lower than normal.

You could fit it yourself but they are very awkward it would only take a dealer a few minutes to fit so shouldnt cost too much.
