Any ideas for a 5000 word project in the field of Monetary Economics (Macroeconomics/role of money in the Economy)?

Anything where you look at quantitative easing would be topical. Loads of recent use in UK and US, which are great economies to use because you can get loads of free up to date data sets.

There is a wealth of literature on the old money crises (because they happened long ago, so plenty have written on it), such as the hyperinflation in the Weimar Republic.
