macbook battery dead, need replacement

    Right, so I managed to get just over 1000 cycles before my macbook battery packed in, and now I need a replacement.

    I have the 13 inch almuminium version

    (when I bought it, it wasn't called a Macbook Pro, just regular Macbook)

    Anyway, where can I get a replacement battery? Anywhere I've gone to in dublin is insistant that MBP batteries won't work on it, and older white macbook batteries won't either.
    Apple don't sell them online afaik, and the only advice I can get so far is to buy a second hand battery on ebay. I'm not too happy doing that at all.

    Is there anyone who can help me or knows where to get a replacement battery?

    Im sure it wouldn't hurt to give the Apple store in Victoria Square in Belfast a call. They certainly do repairs there maybe they can help

    Preferably won't have to go as far as Belfast, I'll give Mactivate a try, and if it doesnt work out I'll buy that replacement battery

    How much did you pay for it Kev and was it a brand new one? I've needed a battery for a while now but haven't be too pushed to get one as it's not a necessity for me
