buying my first ike and could do with some advice.

    This bike any good?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011-VIKING-SPRINT-MENS-ROAD-RACING-BIKE-RRP-249-99-/250888320454

    Thanks.

I have one. Bought it just 12 months ago. Its a grand bike, a little heavy if anything. Fine for a first bike, but if you begin to really enjoy cycling (like I did) you'll have to upgrade to a lighter and better built bike for club cycles and sportif's. I upgraded to a Lapierre Audacio 400 a few weeks ago and its heaven. Much lighter and more comfortable to ride. I have seen people on here advise that you need to spend more than EUR600 to have a proper road bike. I laughed at them this time last year, but now I know that this is true. I'll be selling mine pretty cheap in the next week or 2. PM me if you're interested.

Even at that price you think its a waste of money?

Don't buy it. At best it'll be a little heavy and not much fun to ride compared to a more expensive bike. At worst it'll fall apart pretty much instantly.

Mods -can we sticky this please? In fact, could we sticky it in such a way that it appears as the first post in every single thread, and perhaps even make it a compulsory sig for all forum members.

    :pac:

If you want to use Boards for selling your bike, use the cycling adverts sub-forum, and abide by the rules there (which do not allow off-thread dealing) - do not use the main to advertise the fact you are looking to sell

    Thanks
