Wedding on a Bank Holiday

    Hey Guys

So my fiance and I are trying to decide on a date for our wedding next year.

One available date for our chosen reception venue is the August Bank Holiday Monday.

Does anyone know if you can get married on a bank holiday?

We will be having the ceremony in a Catholic Church. But we don't know what church yet as my fiance is Catholic and she's from Australia so we don't have a local church to go to (I'm Methodist).

    Any tips would be great!

    Cheers

AFAIK bank holidays aren't an issue as far as the church is concerned. It would be a problem if you were having a civil ceremony, but priests work 7 days a week :)

The only thing you'd want to watch is the venue prices. When I was getting married any places I looked charged weekend rate on a bank holiday monday, so if you're looking at having it on a monday to keep the costs down this is something to look out for.
