Mole Removal

    My GP has referred me to a plastic surgeon who will decide whether to remove a mole on my forehead. I'm a bit frightened about what this might cost. Does anyone know what it could actually cost me (approximately) or whether it would be covered by VHI?

    Aine will obviously have fuller information.

    I have a few moles and skin tags and the advice was to leave well enough alone, unless there was a specific reason to remove them.

    Assuming its a straightforward minor surgery, total cost shouldn't be more than a few hundred euros, in and out in an hour or two.

    If it is being removed for cosmetic reasons, there may be a charge. If it is being removed for medical reasons, e.g. they suspect down the line that it may cause problems, then it is likely to be covered, although you may need to pay a small charge.
