Does anyone know why we're waiting till 2 to change the clocks to 1am. Such a bizarre time to go changing clocks. course everyone does it at any time but why pick 2am in the first place.
Whats wrong with 1am so that it will still be 12.

It will save me the bother of changing them back. I will have house time and outside time. I will change my watch but leave the clocks.

Like everything else in this country it's probably due to pub opening and closing hours.

If you only get a ride twice a year, you should be changing your mot instead.

Do the late shift on 24th/25th march next, that will balance it out nicely:)

The reason they change at 2 am is so they change is co-ordinated across the euro zone. At least according to a news article I read a couple of days ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,515 ✭✭✭Firefox11

The Time change does not come into affect in the US for another week so i have to come into work an hour earlier for all next week but get home an hour earlier of course.

Is it supposed to be just after 12 now.

I like change but when you're woken up by a kitten wearing a cape, in a house that looks like a crime scene it would be kinda nice if the clocks didn't get weird too

Its 5 months, but you are right about Feb. Late Feb is about equivalent to late October in terms of total daylight.

I think it is 2AM to avoid massive confusion in automated clocks and calendars regarding midnight. If you go back an hour at 1AM you have two midnights.
