    hey gang

    hope yer all well

im moving to a smart phone.

i want to get summit decent, any suggestions would be great.

i need it to do integrate well with
    1. gmail, google calendar, picasa, (basically all google stuff)
    2. internet radio - i want to be able to listen to web radio in the car thru the shart phone
    3. replaceable battery, replaceable screen - just in case i mishandle it!
4.strong battery life, relative to other smart phones on market
    5. torch function of some sort
    6. good louspeaker, and normal to ear speaker
    7. NICE TO HAVE: app that lets you text with a regular phone keypad rather than a qwerty board - too long, not nice for the fat fingered

i was thinking iphone, was also thinking sensation, but not sure if these models even meet all of my criteria above.

    any help would be great
    oiche mhaith,
    Ed

You'll be very hard pressed to find any of the newer smart phones that have a replaceable screen option for a decent price, looking at the guts of 100euro for a replacement for most HTC's.

As for the rest, My Desire HD fits the bill, apart from Battery life.

On point 1: Thats basically any Android phone. Not sure how much iPhones hook into GMail etc.
    Any phone will do 2.
    Any Android will do 3.
Any android will get about 24-36 hours. iPhone probably a bit more.
I thought every Android has a torch. Or at least theres definitely free torch apps.
No idea about the loudspeaker. They all seem fairly middle of the road
And the app to change to the other style, I think you can customise that on a per app basis on Android. Not sure. And I have no idea about iPhones in that regard.

I always tell people to be wary of phone size. I have a 3.7" screen and its perfect. I've used 4.3" phones and thought they were too big. The Samsung Galaxy S II and the HTC Sensation are 4.3".

My phone, the HTC Desire, is about the same size as an iPhone. Even though the bigger screened phones are faster, I'm still sticking with this one. I even recommended the missus to get the newer HTC Desire S recently!

Sony ericsson ARC s is a terrific phone and while the HTC may have the edge on some areas what Sony can add is almost perfect reliability and it looks better than any other phone.Nobodys got a camera to compare. With Sony takeing 100% of the company you will be able to integrate everyting on Sony entertainment
