    Right lads,

Was seriously looking into a new shape accord next year but it has mixed reviews, and had a look at the audi quattro.

I have no idea on the different engines and trim levels here has anyone any opinion on these? maintenance etc. would be looking at 08/09 ish.

    ta. :)

Surely you'll struggle to find a 2.0 petrol in quattro. Better chance if you do with the 2.0 Turbo Petrol.

Pretty rare car I should think, might have to look over the border.
Whats putting you off Diesel? I guess since you looked at the 3 series coupe you have also checked out the A5?

3.0 TDI is the engine to go for in that car, alot more grunt than the 2.0 TFSI.

    240bhp and 500nm, nice.

In terms of a 2.0TFSI A4 Quattro from 2008/2009, I would expect there were somewhere between one and none sold in ROI.

There were 500ish petrol A4s sold in 08, and 87 sold in 09. The vast majority of those would have been 1.8TFSI.

You'll need to go to the UK to get one.

WRT Spec and maintenance, spec will be a moving feast as anyone who buys a car at this end of a model range will invariably have put in a decent amount of extras too.
Maintenance isn't going to be massively different from a diesel car. Service intervals will be similar, I'm not aware of any additional costs incurred by the quattro system, larger tyres will be more expensive. Nothing earth-shaking anyway.

I have an 07 2.0 tfsi Quattro petrol .There isn't many around that have the full spec. They are a great car.I got mine from Audi north Dublin they had brought it in from England so it was fully loaded.

I'll be sticking with a similar sized Quattro when time comes to trade up. They are great for driving in the snow and ice.

This is my Quattro Avant S-line interior and exterior. I bought it from The Audi centre, Ballsbridge.

S-line suspension (30mm lower than normal) coupled with 19's leads to a firm ride, however it has a neutral set up. When really pushed, it intially understeers and then the quattro system throws the power to the back.
In the dry I cannot unstick it!

Mine is the 2.0 tdi 170bhp. I do a lot of mileage, so petrol is not an option. It is due to get re-mapped next week. Hopefully relaeasing another 20-25% power and torque.

    The car is originally UK.

    Good luck.

With a quattro (or any 4wd car) 170/180 is the very minimum BHP figure you need to be aiming for as 4wd saps alot of that horse power away and can leave you with a very under whelming drive.

A remapped 2.0 TFSI or 170PD would be a good quattro daily driver for sure.

In that case don't buy a 4wd Audi unless it has an S or RS on the back :D
