Very new to self assessment. Im a childminder and no business experience. Submitted my return months ago, no tax return due as earned less than the 15k limit. Need to pay 253 eu PRSI. When I go to pay theres two options, income tax or preliminary income tax, which do I pay under? Prob a stupid question but dont wanna pay the wrong one :) thanks

If you are talking about your tax return for the calendar year 2010, that is regarded as your current filing year, so is NOT preliminary. Preliminary relates to 2011 tax of which you must pay a guess-timate also.

Thanks so much, thats a great help. Only expecting to pay PRSI again next year, so should I pay that now or pay nothing? Thanks for your help :-)
