My blower motor for heating the car And windscreen recently packed in and no longer works. I have searched the web and this seems to be a common issue on VW Passats. Only problem is I can't seem to get my hands on a second hand one and it looks like the whole assembly behind the glovebox will have to be replaced which could turn out quiet pricey.
Just wondering has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve it at a cheap cost. Normally I'd do without it, but seen as winter is approaching and snow and icy mornings on the cards, I would like to get it fixed.
Any cheap solutions welcome.

It depends why it is not working...could have the same fault as the mk2 Leons by letting water and dirt in and the motor siezes....you can free them out tho.
