Three-quarter length sleeves on winter jumpers

When did this trend start? I have been looking at some lovely chunky knit jumpers online but loads of them have sleeves that are only three-quarters the length of your arm. Dorothy Perkins seems particularly bad for this. Why would I want a big heavy winter jumper which leaves my forearms/ wrists frozen?

I'll stop ranting now, it's just really annoying me!

I totally agree, I got a cute one in New Look with all little birds on it and the sleeves are driving me mad, haven't worn it so thinking about bringing it back!

Not digging batwing sleeves in general on all the cardi's and jumpers lately...

I don't get this either, or short sleeves on woolen jumpers- it's a wool jumper, it's meant to make me warm, so why would I want short sleeves!??
I also don't like the cardis with only one button at the top, some look pretty nice, but don't do much to keep you warm on a winter's day!
