    Hi all!
I'm in 6th year at the moment and I want to study general nursing in TCD next year.I've heard that a lot of the placements are located outside of Dublin and in the kildare area?Is this true?Any advice is greatly appreciated :) thanks!

Placements are normally in the Adelaide and Meath Hospital incorporating the National Children's Hospital (AMNCH) at Tallaght, but might be on one of these others:

St. Anne's Hospital, Moore Abbey, Monasterevin, Co. Kildare.
    St. James's Hospital, James's Street, Dublin 8.
    St. Patrick's Hospital, James's Street, Dublin 8.
HSE East Coast Area and HSE South Western Area.
Stewarts Hospital Services Ltd., Palmerstown, Dublin 20.

When you get accepted into the course you're given an allocation form which offers you the choice of St James's or Tallaght (aka AMNCH - Adelaide and Meath hospitals incorporating the National Children's Hospital) as your partner hospital for the four years. This is where you'll do all of your general placements. In 2nd and 3rd year you'll be in a few different clinical areas, but never too far outside Dublin.
