I see Canon have announced a new FF 1D line ...

    http://www.canon.co.uk/For%5FHome/Product%5FFinder/Cameras/Digital%5FSLR/EOS%5F1Dx/

I wonder what price range it will be ?

edit I see it is set to be released in MArch with a price of US $ 6800 ... pricey..

you think its pricey in dollars (US version) ...Canon tend to keep the price conversion around the same so you can expect it to be around €6500-6800 when its available in Europe(UK/Ireland).

I will be trying it before I purchase in March/April or Might wait till June/July just to see if any other pro's will find problems with it. (I will be getting rid of my Mk IV which cost me around €4500ish ...and from looking online its only worth about €3000ish secondhand ...so possibly worth a lot less in 6months)

I thought that Canon quoted UK prices at around £5,600? So, I think this time, they are roughly keeping the price consistent across the board, which is a nice change.

I'm considering this camera (budget for next year allowing).

Likewise, I'll probably wait until summer, and the camera will be well tested. The specs look great though, especially 14fps, using jpg and lowish ISO, but even at 12fps it will be great. The high ISO will be a major advantage, as well as their new AF system (including face tracking).

I am slightly concerned about it being FF, but the larger sensor size should allow more cropping. It may require using the 1.4x TC more then I currently do, just for that extra reach.

It's unlikely I'll sell my 1D MkIV though.

yes .... have been working full-time as a pro photographer for a number of years and was working part-time for a number of years before that.

the vast majority of my work is for the newspapers and at the moment I can be found on a daily basis at the Four Courts.
