It appears from threads so far that the iPhone 4s battery is no better than previous models. I amazed that apple can't or won't sort this. My question is are the battery slider cases with additional battery life any good and has anyone any recommendations? Thanks in advance

Why amazed? Its a touch screen phone with GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth etc. They actually provided figures at the launch which said it would be slightly worse on data and slightly better on calls, AFAIR. Unless they start putting car batteries into them, or there is a big breakthrough in technology, there isn't ever going to be a marked increase in battery life.

    whats the problem with that?
I charge mine every day in work at the desk, its at 100% around 11am everyday and by the time i get to work the next day to charge again it can sometimes be still over 50%.

I have bluetooth on 24/7 for the car.
    WiFi on from about 5pm-midnight.
    push notifications all on
    and push emails on too.

Why dont you wait and suss out the battery for yourself first before reading things on the net from people that are expecting battery life to be on par with their old Nokia 6300's for some reason.

I'll do both, but I'm not adverse to other peoples opinions that's why I use boards on occassions. My main question is the battery pack as I work outdoors alot and the battery can be a big issue. I could get a diffirent phone but I like the iPhone apart from the poor battery. I was hoping a good battery pack might solve my issue If apple can't.

I used to use a Mophie Juice Pack with a 3G and it doubled the battery. Doubled the thickness and weight of the phone too......:o

Some of us don't have the luxury of a desk at which to charge up.
Thinking about iphone4s myself but battery life will be a factor for me.

i presume you have access to a plug socket at home then, i just used my desk as an example, the same could be said for a full charge every evening, or every morning, the point being one charge every 24 hours, you can substitute whatever time in there that suits the indivdual.

But its live and let live and all that, i was just trying to same someone 40-60 euro on buying a juice pack without knowing whether they actually need it or not.

I have my eye on the MiLi Power Spring battery case. Doesn't look like it bulks it up too much.

I have a Richard Solo 1800 external battery.
    Very happy with it.
    About 30 on ebay.
