Does it mean the discussion is not allowed, or does it mean the problem is solved?

If you read the charter you ll see that this is meant to be a forum to direct people to guides such as it51 and it70 with the relevant information not as a professional advice forum.

A lot of the posts want advice on how to minimize cgt and cat liabilities - which require proper professional advice. These are complicated area's and it avoids mis-information

Which is all well and good, but:

    a) it still doesn't stop the steady stream of questions being asked (and answered, resulting in bans),

    b) anything goes over on the accountancy forum anyway, I'm yet to see a thread over there closed because of the fear of litigation which I understand is the basis for the policy in this forum...

So, maybe there should just be a sticky to tell people that if they want to ask a specific question to just head on over to the accountancy forum, or to Askaboutmoney... but then again since no-one appears to read the stickies... :D

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    These.

I'm an AITI and a solicitor by trade- the first led me to open the forum- the second to have the MO to give consideration to reliance

The accountancy mods are entitled to run their own forum in their manner.

Regular posters here know the rules,

    Free lunch is not allowed.

    Thread closed.

    Read the charter.
