$RECYCLE.BIN Folder keeps reappearing...

...on my external hard drive!! And it's a pain in the arse. I'm using Windows 7 Pro and I have the hard drive in question set to bypass the recycle bin in the recycle bin properties. But that folder keeps getting recreated. I know I can hide it from view on the computer but I use the external hard drive for watching videos on TV. It's connected through the blu-ray player. So that's where it shows up...in the folders on the drive when looking at em on the TV. Is there any way to get rid of this folder? I've used the drive without this issue occurring when copying files to drive with an XP computer but can't seem to stop it happening with Windows 7.

If you delete something off your external drive it will go to a recycle bin folder on that drive. It makes more sense than to move the files to your main drive when they get deleted.

Go to explorer , tools > settings

Check the box that says hide system files and uncheck the box that says show hidden files

Not gonna help hide it on the media player through the TV Best bet is to shift delete content off the external

it will help hide it from media player on the TV, remove it from the media player library and then change the view settings otherwise it will keep comping back.

media player won't index hidden files.

failing that move your media player library to a sub folder in the drive as the recycle folder will only appear in the root of the drive.

I think OP is using a external Hard Drive through a USB or his Blu Ray player (Thats what I've got from his first post), so that will probably list any hidden files/folders unless the firmware supports hiding them, which most wouldn't I'd say.
