Looks like a good deal alright. Reviews seem pretty decent. Quick search seems to say that you can put the RAM up to 8GB but I could be wrong on that one. For the price it's a fairly good deal I'd say. If you can get the £50 back you're doing pretty well with it really.

I bought this Laptop in Harvey Normans a couple of weeks back for €650, it had 8GB RAM instead of the four though. Can't fault it it is a lovely machine, I got a approved for my €50 euro cashback today so they do give it you, you have to send them a jpeg of the receipt but in a bit of info and it's grand. I think the closing date for the cashback is the 31st of November, but check that out just in case and you should be grand. Cracking price for a cracking laptop.

I'm looking for a good value laptop at the moment too, how does it compare with this?

    http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Samsung_RV520_1126490.html

i3 instead of i5, but 6gb ram instead of 4gb and 640gb hard drive.

Would the i5 make much of a difference?

Slower processor and integrated graphics card, which means wouldn't be as good for games. i personally wouldn't touch a machine with integrated graphics card but it depends on what you want to use it for.

For the same price, I think you're better off with the OP's laptop. The hard drive shouldn't make too much of a difference, 500GB is still a lot of storage unless you're using it to store an entire music collection. If you think you will fill it you can always get a 1TB external drive for about €100. The RAM is probably one of the easier things to upgrade in a computer as well, so if you're ever stuck it can be upgraded. While 6GB of RAM is nice, 4 is loads for most people.

Is the cashback offer ending based on the time you buy it or the time you apply for it as you wont be able to apply for it til after the closing date

Once you show that you've bought it within the time specified, you qualify for the cashback!
