Protective pads...how to buy?

    Hi,

I was given 2 jackets, and 2 pairs of trousers...all second-hand, but reputable brands (and all different brands, funnily enough).

One jacket has protective armor in shoulders, back, and elbows. The other, only shoulders and elbows...

One pair of trousers has armor in knees and ass. The other, has none, but has slots for them.

So my question: I'd like to make sure they all have the best armor...I notice one jacket's armor doesn't fit the other's too well. Also, the armor itself seems to be relatively unknown brands (judging from Google, but CE verified)....So how does one go about finding armor that fits? Is there a standard/sizing standard? Or is just a case of walking into a shop and seeing what fits? I'm obviously new to the biking world...

    Cheers,

Have a look at the Louis.de site. They have a section that is dedicated to retrofittable protectors Page link
They are sized so you can work out what will fit your gear.
Turn the jacket inside out and measure the armour pockets then you can make your selection based on size/shape.
You can trim most PE foam armour pretty easily with a sharp scissors if needs be.

Very good site, thank you. Should do the trick. Noticed that slots for the trousers are simply too far down so I'm guessing they're a bit too long for me...think I'll have to replace them.

Any other recommended sites for biking in general?
