    Got Sky+ at last.

Is the old Sky box of value to anyone or should I just send it for recycling. I already have a Freesat box.

Why not put in in to another room and use it as a fta box handy for kids or people staying over.

    Thanks.

I already hae a Freesat box and I don't want to put up another dish or even wire up a dual LNB.

I think I'll put it on Buy & Sell.

I always have a working spare sky box ready to be sprung into action. You never know when your box will let you down.

    Imagine...

Christmas eve , snow on the ground, sitting watching a christmas movie with the family, next minute, the box gives up the ghost...

no spare box and you may be goosed but if u have a spare box need I say more! this comes from experience

We'll take that old box off you. Ours fried last night and we need a replacement. We were just onto Sky and were told that they no longer cover the old boxes. We don't really want to get a new one.

If your Dish has a Sky+ and a freesat box unless its a recording box then there should be a free slot on the quad thats already on your dish so u just need to get a cable ran from it to the extra room etc..

No such luck as warrenty has expired and they tell me that I need to pay either a 100.00 for a new box OR upgrade to HD with a year subscription. If I can find a old box that would be great - if not.....

Feck paying €100,ring 'em and tell them you are switching to UPC,guaranteed that they'll fit a new box for free;)

    Good advice.

I'll have to find somewhere to store it. We already have too much junk, but you never know when you'll be glad of it.

Actually tried this last week - not sure if my charms worked, as the upgrades lady even gave me the number to call to cancel! Oh well, lucky that we do have UPC around here. :o

As soon as you ring the number they will give you what you want and maybe more, I'd be stunned if they didn't sort you..

Ring them, I rang today to reduce my costs, got 20% off for 6 months, went to cancel the multiroom, offered a reduced cost to 7.5 for six months or 10 for 12 months. Took the 20% and cancelled the multiroom, saving myself about 30 per month. Sky do not want to lose customers.
