There was this comedy sketch show that ran for only one series in either 1998 or 99.It was on late at night on RTE2 and nobody else I've spoken to ever saw it.I can't remember the title and i'm starting to think i dreamed it all.David O Dohertys brother who's also a comedian was in it and the biggest gimmic of the programme is they'd show old newsreel footage and dub it over. They showed this one piece of footage on every single episode, it was from the 50's ,early 60's and it had a guy interviewing an angler.Did any one else see this show?

I also have vague recollections of a recurring sketch featuring someone called the hungry referee,if that can jog any memories.

No it wasent either of those.I have a vague feeling that Tommy Tiernan might have appeared in some of the sketches.

No,it was more of an "alternative" sketch show.

Call off the search, I think I have it this time, darkdubh - Couched !

and go to 8.30 for The Hungry Referee.

That's it.Strange show alright.I'd forgotten that the hungry referee was an animation.

Just watched the whole thing now,PJ Gallagher pops up,surprisingly subdued.
