    Can i use one of these to put saorview into 4 rooms? I've no amps or anything like that ,just 4 wires leading into the attic from each room.

    I think you'd be better off using a 4-way splitter if you're only feeding 4 tv points & even so you'll need a strong signal to begin with.

    You would be running a signal loss of around 10-12db at each output on a six way passive splitter; unless your incoming signal is so strong that it can cause overloading (or close to it) at the receiver, an amplified splitter should be a better option.

    I've used splitters like that in conjunction with a masthead amp.

    Without a masthead amp I'd go with lawhec's suggestion and use a standard 4 output distribution amplifier.

    I always prefer to use a masthead amp fed into a passive splitter rather than a distribution amp. The quality is usually far better.
    Unless the power supply for the amp can be sited between the splitter and the amp ( usually needs power in the attic) , a power passing splitter is needed.
    Unless there is a very strong signal ( more than 70db) at the aerial, I would be reluctant to passively split more than 2 ways , to maintain a decent margin after cable and socket losses.
