how do you guys do this, or do yous just screw the f connector on to the lnb and leave it like that. im afraid of it rusting or water getting into the cable. is the f connector rubber boots a good job. taping them might look abit messy

Self Amalgamating Tape - watch the video. I wouldn't use anything else.

cheers Cush, ive order some self amalgamating tape aswell as a few other things from tvtrade.
i didnt realize till this morning that my quad lnb had a pulldown cover
i will be running 2 cables from the quad lnb, should i put abit of tape over the 2 connectors not in use or just leave them be
also is it a good id to put the tape on the connections when on the ground and then bring the cabled lnb and mount on the dish

In the video, the demonstrator didn't strecth the tape as he applied it.
Amalgamating tape is designed to be stretched as you apply it and it then makes a much better seal and clings to itself better.
Great on single and some twin lnbs, near impossible on a quad, trying to individually wrap each output.
Use rubber boots and some silicone grease on these, very effective.
I just used silicone grease inside the f-plugs and coated the outside of each connection on my quad, then pulled down the cover. Perfectly waterproof, no problems in three years.

i think i will just use the 2 connectors at either end of the lnb, will give me abit more room when wraping and stretching the tape on

What is the correct torque for F-type connectors?

Speculation and wonderings to be found here:

I think if your have a pull down cover on the lnb its usually sufficient to protect the connectors from the element.

Torque setting for f-connectors!....Lol......tight as tight mate.....as far it will go screwing it in by hand.
