Facebook Privacy!!!

Can anyone reassure me!! What is going on with Facebook in the past 24/48 hrs!!! Privacy settings have gone haywire.
I like to see what Joe Public can see on my Wall so check it on a regular basis, it normal that when I post on a public wall that it can be seen on my Wall and that fine. But last night I was checking to my absolute horror every post I made came up!!! Everything!! All the posts to my friends, close friends.....I did not make any changes to my settings!!!
I got my daughter to check my page (she not friends with me on FB) and sure enough she could read my wall and I hers!!!
I have deactivated my account until I sure it is safe and secure to return!! Check your accounts!!!!!!! :mad::mad::mad:


I have asked numerous friends of mine if this has happened them and to their horror also their privacy is gone!!! wtf!!!

I dunno - just got someone to check mine and its still locked up tight - my friends list is private and my wall is still private?

Check the privacy setting beside the post button. It it looks like a Globe then your posts are public.

Bear in mind that some posts will be viewable by friends of friends which may explain how your daughter can see the posts (I presume that you are looking at the wall of a mutual friend?)

Same thing is happening to me. Have made sure all my privacy settings are watertight but they simply wont apply themselves. Facebook ####s :mad:

Ok, i noticed that my mobile updates were out of sync with my desktop. Your status updates will use the privacy settings of the last update. Always worth checking your setting each time.

Can someone please tell me how to fix my settings!! My facebook wall is now open to the public when I have always had to set to "friends only".

I have been trying to change it back but no joy......!

How much of your profile is publicly viewable? Photos? Status updates? Check ins?

For starters go to Settings > Privacy settings and select the default as Friends.

Then check all the settings one by one. Or if in a hurry jump down to "Limit the audience for past posts". This means everything in the past including those posts you wanted to be public now become 'Friends'.

Also you need to view your wall using the privacy filters.

Thanks BrianD.....I have done all that. I have clicked everything so its just friends only. It still seems to be coming up on my wall so that the public can see it. I have even gone into privacy settings to limit the audience for past posts.

My sister who is a bit more facebook savy then me is stumped by it at the mo????

Same thing is happening to me. I shut my profile down, in the hopes that it might fix itself. I reported the fault also. Cant think of anything else to do.
