You can check in at the Airport, you just won't have as good a choice of seats.

Nothing stopping you checking in online even when you have luggage to drop off.

I've frequently checked in online and not printed out my boarding pass. They will print one for you at the checkin desk when you drop your luggage off.

Alternatively if you are flying Aer Lingus, you can collect your boarding pass at the self-service kiosks at the airport if you check in early.

If your seats are assigned the only advantage of checking in online is that you might be able to skip the check-in queue and go straight to the bag drop.
