Stanley Twin Series 100k Oil Starting Problems

We have a Stanley twin series 100k oil cooker in the kitchen for the last 10 years.
In the last few days it has become hard to start.
If you switch on the heating to manual the burner will attempt to start and all you will hear from the control panel near the ground is clicking and after a few second the burner will stop attempting to start and the left hand side reset light will come on at the control panel. Which will stop you starting the burner for another few mins.
What we have found is that if you start the cooking side in manual that this will start, not fully right, and leave this run for a while that the heating side will then start up.
    Any Ideas.....

    Just to update.
We gave the cooker a good clean and made sure that the sensor that looks at the flame (photocell??) was clean and as we were at it we replaced the nozzle as well.
Working away for the last 2 days.....

My Stanley Twin Series 80k version, circa 1998, has a similar problem after being out of commission while fitting a new pump.

With both sliding controls on continuous the oven will switch on and the burner ignites OK.

The central heating will not. When the boiler control is switched on the fuel pump operates but the burner does not ignite and the left red light comes on as the strip switch operates and cuts the power supply. Pressing the switch resets it but on trying to start the oven it just trips each time.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

Was it a new circulating pump for the central heating ?

Or a new oil pump for the burner on the cooker ?

Did your run out of kerosene for the cooker burner ?

Do not keep pressing the red reset button or you will do harm.

If your sure the pump is operating but you have no ignition then it is likely your transformer has gone.

    Replaced central heating pump.
    Plenty of fuel.
Warning not to keep pressing red button much appreciated - I did not know it could do harm.

    What next?

    Transformer failure could be it.

Most Oftec Engineers carry PDF's in some format or other and you really need someone who knows what they are doing to play with your range i would suggest thats the route you take.

Do you mean PDF copies of manuals which could be e-mailed?

We live remotely and it is difficult to get a service engineer out.

I can cope with most things given a manual.

You'll not get a service and repair manual just an installation and maintainance manual, service and repair comes as standard to those trained for it.

Sorry for my long absence but thank you for all replies.

To cut a long frustrating story short the fault was a failure of the transformer which was arcing at both ends of an HTI cable to the electrode.

The transformer casing and electrode mount were cracked and the cable insulation was split. I contacted Ecoflam the makers of the burner, a Minor 1 (circa 1989).
Their tech. help people were very good and e-mailed installation manuals which included trouble shooting parts lists.

Unfortunately I have had conflicting advice re specifications when searching for replacement parts and have not got them all yet. It looks as if Christmas dinner will have to be done in the micro-wave cum convection oven.

Best wishes to all for Christmas and the New Year!

    Should I keep you posted?
