I'm looking at buying a property in Spain while the prices are quite low, my problem is any of the estate agents I've gone to in Spain are looking for €6,000 downpayment if I want to make an offer on any of their properties, they say it's to show the 'seriousness of my offer', apparently it's not a legal requirement, just something the agents have agreed among themselves.
Has anyone else experienced this, I would have thought buyers would be greeted with open arms rather than what I would call requesting 'hello' money. Opinions welcome.
