    Hi All,
Could anyone recommend a "box" that can decode in HD freesat and saorview and also play back hd .mkv files from an external hard drive.
    All advice appreciated.

    regards

    Paul.

My DM800 does all that, USB DVBT dongle required for Soarview. Now some MKV's dont play back properly, i use 480p ones, that play back perfect.

similar question to OP but is there a Tv available that has a sat tuner or freesat builtin and also can receive saorview? That would be a neat tv.....

UK spec Freeview HD with Freesat (Becoming less unusual in the UK) would work for the channels. Not sure about teletext.

I have a Samsung LED with buit-in satellite and DTT tuners. It can also play media files, record and rewind TV etc. Have it about 18 months - looks neat on the wall in my kitchen with no boxes yet full services.

It's a Samsung UE32C6800 (a 32" LED). I got it from a seller on Amazon.de - it was €670 including delivery about 18 months ago. It's probably cheaper now and replaced with new models.

Hi, I just got the Xoro HRC 9000. I am a tad disappointed with the quality of the picture (non-hd channels)!
