I recently got an acer laptop and decided to do an upgrade to windows 7 professional. Since it was a new system and I didn't have anything on it I did a clean install. I have been having a nightmare since I am constantly getting a validation error similar to
    Process name: iexplore.exe
    Module name: KERNELBASE.dll
    Assert offset: 00014159
My software is all legal and registered and this error can happen anytime from browseing to using word.
Hope someone can help or at least give me an idea of where to search for a solution.
    Thanks Pat

Search the start menu for Memory Diagnostic and run it, see if it reports any errors, did you also install all drivers for the laptop? Namely Chipset, etc.

yep installed the drivers for the chipset graphic card etc. There are two pieces of hardware that i dont know what the drivers for them are (it shows in divice driver that they are base system devices) I have disabled both of them. i have run memory checks but will see if I can run the above mentioned and let you know.
    Thanks Pat

Are you sure that everything went alright with the installation... no skipped files, no errors..? If it was mine, I would just wipe off the Windows 7 disc and reinstall from scratch again..
