New iPhone 4 won't restore!

    As per,

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=74847534

Due to Three's crappy network I have being trying to get out of contract for the last month, complained them to ComReg who told me to follow all of Three's instruction including sending a perfectly good iPhone "in for repairs", I backed up my old iPhone on iTunes on both my laptop and PC (Vista and WIN7) and today I collected a new iPhone from the three store as the morons has swapped out my old working phone for a new one.

I have tried restoring it dozens of times this evening on both computers and each time it will not work, the OS has updated to iOS-5 through iTunes but even then it will not restore it.

    Any ideas?

    Does it give an error?

It says it has completed the restore yet the phone just hangs onc you unlock it after it reboots, I am just trying to get it to go as far as settings so I can do a factory restore and start using it as a new phone.

I have abandoned all hope of restoring it and have already extracted my photos from the Backup files using "iPhone Backup Extractor"

When the phone hangs, Try pressing both your home and power/sleep buttons together until you see the Apple logo.

If that's not a go-er, try a complete restore of the handset via iTunes but set it up as a brand new iPhone, don't choose restore from backup just yet.
Once the iPhone is set up and running on iOS5 as a brand new handset then try a restore from backup.

Btw. Try the above on one of your PCs only for now, in case the above fiddling about wipes out your existing backup in iTunes, so you'll still have the backup on the other PC. It shouldn't affect the backup but you never know...
