Fake or real?

    Hi all,
I received a gift of an airsoft sniper rifle plus scope and was searching for the model to gauge the value and couldn't find the product.

which leads me to believe it may be a fake.

Would anyone be able to enlighten me?

    The specs are:
    Leupold mark 4 3. 5-10x50 M1 8888SC

    Many thanks.

What do you mean by "fake", exactly?

EDIT: Oh, meaning a replica. Yeah, it's unlikely to be a genuine scope, it'd be too expensive to mount on an airsoft device when replicas do much the same thing.

It's not 'fake' per se, it's a replica of a real steel Leupold scope. Genuine Leupold glass is big money so it's most likely a replica, still plenty good for an airsoft gun.

Right sorry, Replica would be the proper terminology yes.

Thanks for your replies, any ideas what they retail for? Or because it is a replica if its something desirable? as I'm thinking about putting it up in the adverts section along with the rifle.

    Thank you

Leupold replicas aren't uncommon. They're a tad more desireable than "normal" scopes, but no more accurate or useful. They're usually only sought after by people trying to complete a certain look.
The price wouldn't be much more than what you'd expect for a non-replica.

The fakes have been about a good while the most famous being
    of the MK4 systems.

MK 4 fakes can be spotted by looking for this:
