Moving a firebird boiler?

    Hi Folks,

Have a firebird kerosene boiler in an out house, positioned in the worst possible place, with plumbing running around the place.

Plan is to move it to a corner to tidy pipes and free space.

Water pipes and oil pipe is no issue, easily moved.... but the boiler itself?

I'm assuming the obvious, drain the system and shut off electrical supply. Shut off oil at tank and drain from there to boiler.
Are these boilers usually bolted down?... and while im at it any recommendations for flue suppliers? current flue comes through exterior wall quite low, and has protective cage around it, but is within reach of little people, so plan on moving that higher?

    Cheers for any help.

If you have no experience in moving boilers may i suggest you take some time to study the Manufacturers instructions before deciding if your commitent to undertake the job, it's not a DIY job.

Anyway, went for a proper look today, hey presto...seems the boiler is just sitting on the concrete floor, not attached in any way, just sheer weight and the pipework holding it in place.

So thats moving the boiler sorted.

Anyone know reasonable flue part suppliers....had a quick look online, seem very overpriced!!

Until you have to get your garden dug out because of an unnoticed oil leak
