The magnificent Brassroots arrive back in Dublin on October 28th fresh from a scintillating show in Whelan’s in July.

There are few live experiences more exhilarating than witnessing the raw power of a finely –tuned brass ensemble and 8-piece outfit Brassroots are that and much more. Formed in London in 2008 by American trombonist Jerome Harper they specialise in energetic and explosive brass-arranged cover versions with a sprinkling of original material thrown in for good measure.

In just a few short years the band’s ascendancy has been quite remarkable, setting stages ablaze from Scala to Glastonbury, London Jazz Festival to Lovebox, Secret Garden Party to the Grand Finale of Big Brother live on Channel 4.

Having independently released (and sold out of) their self-titled debut EP, Brassroots have received global radio play from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Rob Da Bank and LA’s legendary KCRW. All this caught the attention of DoRight! Music, who released the Good Life EP worldwide & topped the Jazz charts and racked up over 200 iTunes chart appearances so far.

With a sky-rocketing notoriety, Brassroots are currently enjoying a residency at Rich Mix, one of London’s coolest venues. On the second Wednesday of every month ‘Brassroots Presents’ showcases new acts before taking the stage themselves for an illicit love triangle between Michael Jackson, Gnarls Barkely & a whole load of horns….
